Once the server starts, the monitor turns back ON and all is well.įrom the X window, I use the CTL+ALT+F2 key to enter text mode. I am able to log in to the system with my user name and password, and then start the X server. If I wait long enough, the monitor enters the power save mode since it is not receiving a signal. If I boot in text mode, no login prompt appears.

I can also edit the grub commands before Fedora loads without a problem. I am able to enter the BIOS configuration page and navigate through it without any issues. On this system, the monitor says 'No Input', and nothing appears until the login prompt for the X window. On the other system with Fedora 11, I can see the boot text scroll by in the window and/or a progress bar at the bottom of the monitor during the boot sequence. The graphical install worked just fine, and after the system booted back up, the X server was working very well. I installed Fedora 11 on my system (see below) using the i686 DVD.

General :: DELL Monitor With In-built Camera For OS - Driver ? Jan 24, 2010 I installed libx264_98, maybe wrong version.Īh, the output of x264's configure script looks like this: Maybe here my version is too old or something. Then, when trying latest ffmpegsource (again, to get the ffms/lavf deps satisfied), it tells me I do not have libx264.

Is there any pre-built x264, that supports lavf/libavcodec for reading H.264 input? Or is there a good, working guide on how to build that on CentOS 5? When trying to build latest ffmpeg (trying to get ffms/lavf dependencies on my system), it tells me, that my 'pkg-config' is too old, and that I should set FFMPEG_CFLAGS and FFMPEG_LIBS to work around the issue. I would like to use the x264 binary itself, as it seems that ffmpeg+libx264 does not have option mappings for all the options I could give to x264 directly. So these x264 versions only support RAW YUV 4:2:0 input, which is of no use to me.

All the prebuilt x264 binaries seem to come without lavf and/or ffms support, and I was unable to build ffmpeg/ffmpegsource on my system. My system is CentOS 5.5 x86_32, and I am currently trying to get the x264 video encoder to work and to read libav* input, like elementary H.264 streams. (On a side note, does anyone know a good guide for building a boot disc/USB stick so I can customize the distro with drivers, partition tools etc?) General :: HDMI Support In Driver Code? Nov 10, 2010 I realise this whole post is a mess, however I hope someone is able point me in the right direction. Here is a link to the Norwegian description I am sure you can figure out what the specifications are (don't know if they are relevant at all, though, heh).I couldn't find the model in this list, Windows drivers can be found here. The laptop I bought is a HP Pavilion dm1-2020eo, however it seems it is a region specific model, as I couldn't find it on HP's UK/US sites. Alas, I have some difficulties finding out how to proceed with the installation.

I recently bought a HP notebook with the intention of installing Linux (I was thinking Ubuntu?) on it, and in my ignorance I assumed that driver support for Linux wouldn't be a problem. First of all, I have not tried to install anything yet, just doing some research.
